Samsung Unveils New Mobile TV Technology
January 12, 2007
Samsung recently debuted its latest new mobile TV technology, called A-VSB (Advanced Vestigial Side Band), at the 2007 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Nevada, held in January 7. The new technology, which requires exclusive chipsets developed by Samsung, is expected to deliver a better mobile TV viewing experience on mobile phones, notebook PCs, mobile TVs, and MP3, without changing the frequency used for standard TV broadcasting. Aimed at the American market initially, the technology will first be used in car TVs and media players. Products based on the A-VSB technology are slated to hit the market in 2008.
